Some may wonder whether or not preexisting conditions can lead to a denial of a travel health insurance policy application. It is most definitely possible that some providers will deny the coverage. The reason for this is obvious: The risk of a heart attack occurring while on vacation is more than the travel insurance provider is willing to take.
It is important to understand this does not means anyone with a serious condition will automatically be denied. While it is true that many policies will deny such a higher risk individual, there are other options insurance provider can offer. The most common would be to simply offer a policy at a much higher premium. Remember, the insurance provider does the customers in order to stay in business. Therefore, may be willing to take a risk with the previous thing condition if the odds of requiring any medical care for a vacation are limited. Yes, this may seem like a risk for the provider but the provider may very well be willing to take such a risk.
